(1) Carbon Footprints
  • Climate change and Global Warming are critical and serious problems that can lead to calamitous result.
  • Therefore, it is important for all to think about reducing the emissions of CO2.
  • The carbon footprint is a part of the ecological footprint. 
  • Carbon footprint is the total set of greenhouse gas emission.
  • Greenhouse gases can be emitted through transport, land clearance, production etc.
  • As we develop alternative sources of energy, we live in more efficient ways.. 
  • The only powerful way to take this issue directly is to balance the emissions of CO2.
(2) Measures (Actions) to Reduce Carbon Footprints – CO2
  • We can take the following actions to reduce carbon Footprints or CO2
  • Use of solar heaters, solar roof tops and solar lanterns. 
  • Awareness campaign for using solar energy in place of electricity. 
  • Print the paper after editing all things on computers.
  • Wastage of papers to be avoided
  • Use of power-saving electronic tools.
  • Always us On/Off functions.
  • Use of battery driven scooters with zero emission and Use bicycles.
  • Forest must be protected and conserved. 
  • Bio-fuel crops must be cultivated on barren stretches land.
  • Bio-degradable plastics should be used.
  • Household wet-waste should be composed separately to reduce useful manure besides achieving cleanliness.
  • Harvesting roof top rain water.
  • Adopt three more ‘R's viz. ‘Repair’, ‘Reclaim’ and ‘Restore’ in addition to the three old ones - ‘Recycle’, ‘Reduce’ 
  • and ‘Reuse’ and Make these six R's buzzwords.
(3) The green and renewable resources (July 19)
  • To face the serious problems of Climate Change and Global Warming, we have to think about green and renewable resources. 
  • For saving energy, we should install solar heaters, solar roof tops and solar lanterns in every household.
  • We should try to reduce carbon footprints to fight against global warming. 
  • We should change our electricity consumption lifestyles both at home and office.
  • We should avoid waste of paper, printing papers should be regulated.
  • We should do careful use of water for its conservation. 
  • Forest should be protected and conserved. 
  •  Barren stretches of land should be cultivated and bio-fuel crops should be encouraged. 
  • NGO should do Environment Awareness Program and launch projects like Tree Plantation, Avoid use of Plastic etc.
